Mr. Peter Borup joined Norvic Shipping in 2018 as Group Chief Executive Officer of the drybulk division.
Mr. Borup has over 25 years of international shipping experience. Most recently he headed the dry cargo activities of J. Lauritzen (2013-17) as President. Prior to that, Mr. Borup worked for D/S Norden A/S as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Norden Shipping (Singapore) Pte Ltd (2002-2013), as deputy director at A.P Moller Newbuilding (1999-2001), and as General manager at Maersk Broker Beijing and at Maersk Broker Korea (1994-1999).
Mr. Borup has an MBA from IMD, Switzerland and an AMP from Wharton Business School. He has been a visiting professor at Shanghai Maritime University since 2006 and served on the Advisory Board of Singapore Maritime Foundation from 2007-2016.
Mr. Borup is a Danish National residing in Denmark.
Mr. Michael Madsen joined Norvic in 2016 to start up and manage Norvic’s office in Houston as the Commercial Director.
Mr. Madsen began his shipping career in 1996 at Armada Shipping in Denmark. In 1998 he moved to Connecticut for Parcel Tankers, which was partly owned by Armada Shipping. Later that same year he moved to Armada Shipping’s U.S.A. dry bulk desk. In 2002 he joined J. Lauritzen U.S.A., where he worked his way up within Lauritzen Bulkers. He began as a chartering manager, and progressed to Senior Chartering Manager, focusing on business in the Americas. In 2014 he transferred to Singapore where he worked as the Team leader for Lauritzen Bulker’s Supramax Pacific team.
Mr. Madsen is a Danish national residing in the USA.
Mr. Michael Højsgaard joined Norvic in 2017 as Head of Panamax Atlantic.
Mr. Højsgaard joined us with over 26 years experience in the dry bulk markets. Michael has worked in many different areas in the shipping industry ranging from Shipbroking to Ship Owning companies and has extensive experience in the Panamax operating business world wide.
Michael spent his first 11 years in shipping as a ship-broker. Initially in various broking houses in Denmark and from 1994 to 1997 he worked for HSBC Shipbrokers in Hong Kong. In 2001, he joined BHPBilliton Freight Trading desk in The Hague. In 2004, he joined Atlas Bulk Shipping and in 2009 he founded his own company with Greek financial backing. In 2013, he moved to Connecticut to join Castleton Commodities and later on during his stay in the US, he joined Scorpio Bulkers in New York. In 2016, he was transferred to their office in London and worked there until joining Norvic.
Michael Højsgaard is a Danish national and resides in Denmark.
Capt. Shrikant Chandra joined Norvic shipping in 2018 to manage Norvic’s India office.
Capt. Chandra sailed for 21 years at sea in various companies including Tanker Pacific Singapore and Teekay Shipping Vancouver. Capt. Shrikant started his shore career in Operations at Tanker Pacific. He has vast experience in Ship Chartering and Commercial Operations during his stint as Director of Operations in a leading ship broking house.
Capt. Chandra also pioneered the first transshipment operation on the east coast of India for transportation of bulk coal from ocean going bulker to power plants upstream the Ganges river. In his previous role as CEO, Capt. Chandra was responsible for running Marlow Navigation India, a group company of Marlow Navigation, Germany.
Capt. Chandra carries with him tremendous knowledge in chartering, operations, laytime and demurrage management as well as wide exposure to the Indian markets. He also has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil Nautical Science from the University of Mumbai.

Mr. Stephen Lamb joined Norvic Shipping in 2018 to manage the day to day operations of the Legal Department as the Head of Legal.
Mr. Lamb has more than 25 years of experience in maritime law and is dual qualified as an English solicitor and American lawyer.
Mr. Lamb joins us from Western Bulk where he was previously Legal Counsel for 9 years. Prior to that, Mr. Lamb worked for the Eitzen Group (now UltraBulk), practiced law in Washington DC, and worked for a member of the US Congress.
Stephen Lamb is an American national and resides in Copenhagen.
Michael Fenger is the COO and Global Head of Chartering.
Mr. Fenger began his shipping career in 1981 in a Danish Shipbroking company, and has been working in the industry ever since. This has all been within the drybulk sector, only interrupted by an early break spending 2 years at sea working as a cadet for J .Lauritzen A/S.
Since then Michael has spent 10 years working with TKB, 8 years with Armada Shipping in Switzerland and 10 years with Copenship A/S where he was acting as the CEO. He has in the last 4 years been setting up commercial offices in Copenhagen for two different drybulk owners and operators, before he joined Norvic Shipping.
